More Than Enough 2011
Sowing Faithfully, Reaping Abundantly
Even in difficult times…God provides more than enough!
Last fall 35 individuals or groups accepted the challenge to take $2000 and make it grow. That happened in a BIG way when more than $18,000 was raised through a wonderful variety of giving projects during the MORE THAN ENOUGH stewardship emphasis.
Again this year, thanks to another generous anonymous donation of $2000, we accepted the challenge to act unselfishly. So far we’ve handed out $1500 to 21 people/groups. Their progress in growing the seed is often visible to us and is encouraging to watch. And remember every dollar is going outside our congregation.
Anonymous gift encourages OASIS giving!
Just as our campaign was getting started - a pleasant surprise. This year all funds donated to OASIS by celebration Sunday, October 9 will be matched. This most generous donation will certainly grow our seeds more quickly!!
Friday October 7, Soup Supper and Project Fair:
Come and enjoy the fellowship and great soup for our annual fall event plus after soup (or before) support some of the More Than Enough projects that will be selling their wares.
Sunday October 9, Celebration Sunday:
The money will be gathered and giving stories will be shared. All of the funds will be distributed to ministries outside of our congregation including:
- The Oasis Ministry at St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church
- The ELCA Disaster Response, in part to assist Lutheran congregations in Joplin, Missouri; Cullman, Alabama and Burlington, North Dakota that experienced extreme loss due to tornados and floods
- OPEN M Free Medical Clinic
Participants can designate where the money they increase is sent or can divide it equally between them. Remember, ideas for giving projects are only limited by imagination. Those who would like to discuss an idea can contact Bill Robinson (330-666-6301), Kit Scheetz (330-865-7794) or Dana Singer (330-836-9262), “More Than Enough” Project Encouragers.
