Community Garden

Garden Update April 2011
It’s that time of year again when the weather begins to warm and the sun starts shining bright that we start thinking about our outdoor activities for the spring. Well now is the time to start thinking about planting in our community garden! Just think about having a supply of fresh veggies, fruits, herbs and flowers and more all summer long. Plus, you will get the chance to interact with other gardeners, help out OPEN M and just plain enjoy the great outdoors! Please plan to join us for an information session on the Community Garden which will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m. in the library. Information will be available about the timeline of the garden, the cost to participate, the opportunities available, and more. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Short at (330) 620-6594.
Garden Update September 2009
Wow! It’s amazing how fast the summer has gone by this year! Well, I am please to say that we have now successfully produced and donated more than 500 pounds of fresh produce from our beautiful community garden (with more still on the way)! We were able to plant a whole host of different vegetables and fruits and herbs and even some flowers. I hope that each of you has had the opportunity to enjoy the garden in some way. As fall is fast approaching, we are beginning to look forward to next year’s planting season already and I would like to invite all of you to consider participating! We will be hosting our first 2010 garden planning meeting on Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 10-11 am in the fellowship hall. I want to encourage anyone who is interested in participating next year to join us for this information and planning session! Happy Gardening!
