A Little Poem for Christmas

On  Christmas morn  the angels sing their praises to the newborn king.

We greet him, too, with song and prayer and lift up people everywhere.

Because we know not all is well, not all is calm nor all is bright.

The world is full of pain and doubt and not like that first silent night.

So if your hearts are well and whole and love surrounds you near or far,

Give thanks to God and recognize how very lucky that you are.

And if you’re sad, or sick, or weak, or think you don’t know what to do.

Remember the baby, Jesus the Christ, came to give hope to people like you.

Let’s celebrate!  Let’s greet this day with wonder and a sense of love.

Christ has come, new hope is born - God to this world from God’s home above.
