WELCA
Continue to support WELCA with your prayers as we remember our Purpose Statement:
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.
2012 Updates...WE'RE BACK!!
The return to regular WELCA meetings is on: March 14, 2012 Fellowship Hall 10 a.m.
The Akron Blind Center will present their informational program explaining the Center's services and purpose, the problems facing the blind and the important role of volunteers. Kathryn Boles, a volunteer will lead the discussion. THANK OFFERING will be received. Maxine Heldridge will lead us in devotions. Refreshments will be served by Dorothy Hansen
Our WELCA unit is mobilizing women to act BOLDLY on their faith in Jesus Christ during the Lenten Season. We are hopeful that the congregation will join with our LWR project "BASKETS of PROMISE". These Baskets of Hope will be in the Kinship Café and the narthex to receive your donations. These kits provide essential items to learn and to work toward a better future. Our goal is to collect enough items to create 50 LWR school kits during the season of Lent. The kits will be assembled at our May 9 meeting.
The schedule for donations is:
March 4 pens (blue or black) and pencils, unsharpened
March 11 rulers (30 cm) and erasers (2 1/2 ")
March 18 crayons (box of 16 or 24) and pencil sharpeners
March 25 Blunt safety scissors
Thanks for your willing gifts supporting the LWR BASKETS of PROMISE In this Lenten season let us be BOLD. With our boldness we can help one another find lives that are bold, live out that boldness and celebrate it. Share your boldness with us. We are an active, bold WELCA unit..
